Properties
SiC or Si-IGBT power semiconductors
The SPM-VFDHP inverter can be equipped with SiC or IGBT circuit breakers. High frequency applications such as solar PV inverters and active rectifiers use SiC circuit breakers. Low frequency applications such as motor drives use IGBT power switches. Accordingly, this inverter stack is suitable for a wide range of applications.
Advanced protection features
The built-in protection features of the SPM-VFDHP inverter include short-circuit, over-temperature, and varistor-based surge protection. Further overload protection with a standard 63A circuit breaker can also be implemented.
Pluggable Gate Driver Board
VFDHP is equipped with a 6-channel direct-pluggable gate driver board that is optimized for the switches used in the inverter. This board has LEDs to indicate inputs, faults, deactivation signals, as well as test points. The pluggability of the gate driver board offers more flexibility as well as for easy maintenance of the inverter.
DC link with film capacitors
The SPM-VFDHP uses metallized polypropylene capacitor in the DC link. These 900V capacitors have an ambient temperature of 105°C and offer a very high MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of more than 400,000 hours at 50°C ambient temperature. Unlike electrolytic capacitors, film capacitors can also withstand a very high RMS current as well as more than 1.4 times the rated voltage without failure or loss of energy.
Isolated inputs and outputs
All logic inputs and outputs of the inverter are galvanically isolated with adjustable low- or high-impedance optocouplers. This greatly improves the EMC immunity of the signals and provides robust isolation between the controller and inverter to avoid false tripping due to common mode noise.
Simple and safe screwless connection
A screwless connection can be achieved with the help of a Spring connection plug for the inputs and outputs of the inverter possible. This ensures safe and reliable high-performance connections and disconnections without the need for additional tools.
